Artists Profile

Rónán Lynch is a fiddle player from Co. Cork. He grew up in a musical family and spent many summers playing music in pubs and venues around Dingle in West Kerry with his late father Donncha Lynch, an accomplished accordion player from Baile Bhúirne in Co. Cork and his mother Caitlín Ní Bheaglaoich, a sean-nós singer and musician from the well known Begley family in West Kerry.

Having been tutored in early years by fiddle and flute player Johnny McCarthy, Rónán’s music has been influenced by the Sliabh Luachra style of players such as Connie O Connell and Séamus Creagh, the fiddle playing of Tommy Peoples and Brian Rooney as well as the music of his own family.
