Úna ní Fhlannagáin is an award-winning harpist and singer from Co. Galway. An instrumentalist of verve and imagination, she is rooted in diverse musical influences such as the dance music tradition of North Clare, the sean-nós singing style of Maigh Seola, the American post-minimalists and free jazz. She has performed her wildly energetic jigs and reels, delicate hornpipes and emotive slow airs throughout Ireland, Europe, North America and the Middle East. Úna strives to mine the richness of her native tradition, explore the potential of her instruments, and respectfully engage with other cultures... And above all, to rise the heart!
Joe Carey, a native of Geesala in Co. Mayo has been an active member of the traditional music scene in the West of Ireland for many years. He is a well known button accordion player but also a very fine singer. He is joined on this occasion by Deirdre McSherry from Nenagh in Co. Tipperary. She is well known for her piano accompaniment and also for her flute playing.
